Dr. Dorfman is a licensed Clinical Psychologist (PSY 26393) with over 20 years of clinical experience. She has treated a wide range of disorders with varied populations. Over the past decade she has honed her skills and gained expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy utilizing the most up to date techniques.
Dr. Dorfman received her M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy and continued on to complete a Ph.D. in clinical psychology. With respect and compassion, and a bit of humor, Dr. Dorfman utilizes her extensive clinical skills to treat a wide range of ages and mental health issues. Her broad range of interests, experiences, continually seeking to add to her clinical skills has allowed her to work with diverse populations. She has expertise spanning from adolescents, young adults transitioning to adulthood, adults, couples, families and groups. Dr. Dorfman has a particular expertise in Obsessional Compulsive Disorder, as well as assisting parents with children with developmental difficulties and other unique challenges. She accomplishes this while providing a wide range of strategies to help develop tools and solutions to overcome varied behavioral, relation, emotional and developmental issues.
Dr. Dorfman completed comprehensive APA accredited internships at Sharp Mesa Vista. Her training provided a strong base with more serious conditions in the inpatient psychiatric and partial hospitalization program, as well as work with outpatient treatment with adults, children and adolescents. Dr. Dorfman has also worked in areas of Juvenile Diversion, Substance Abuse settings, and Escondido Youth Encounter for teens at risk. Her work at Family Health Centers Integrative Medicine and Professional Community Services, working with patients with mental and physical issues rounds out her repertoire.
Dr. Dorfman competes in Dog Sports while continuing to pursue her love of music. She expresses her creative side by pursuing metal arts. Dr. Dorfman can be found on hiking trails throughout San Diego County, swimming in the ocean, star gazing, and indulging in all that is chocolate. Dr. Dorfman lives in sunny San Diego County with her family and dogs.

Fees and Insurance
Compassionate Cognitive Behavioral Psychotherapy does not directly accept insurance and is considered an 'out-of-network provider'. I can provide a super bill for you to submit to your insurance. This will likely allow you to receive some reimbursement if you have a PPO. Payment is collected at the time of each visit through a credit card or debit card. Sessions are billed at $250 for individual and $90 for group sessions.
